Dr. Philipp Zech
Philipp Zech is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Innsbruck. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Innsbruck in 2014. He is interested in developmental and cognitive robotics, affordance learning and intelligent and adaptive manipulation. He has already published more than 30 papers in international journals and conferences, two of which have received best-paper awards.
Dr. Barry Ridge
Barry Ridge is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Automatics, Biocybernetics and Robotics, Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. He received a B.Sc. in Computer Applications from the School of Computing, Dublin City University, Ireland in 2002. He went on to study fractal geometry and measure theory at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of St. Andrews, Scotland, where he received an M.Phil. in Pure Mathematics in 2006. After being awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship to pursue doctoral studies at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, with a focus on robotic learning of object affordances, he defended his Ph.D. in 2014. His research interests include cognitive robotics, computer vision and machine learning.
Dr. Emre Ugur
Emre Ugur is an Assistant Professor in Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey; and head of the CoLoRs Lab. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU, Turkey) in 2010; worked as a researcher in ATR, Japan between 2009-2013; visited Osaka University as a specially appointed Assistant Professor in 2015 and in 2016; and worked as a senior researcher in University of Innsbruck between 2013-2016.
He serves/served as program co-chair in ICDL-Epirob 2017 and ICDL-Epirob 2018.He organized/co-organized: IROS 2017 WS on Machine Learning Methods for High-Level Cognitive Capabilities in Robotics, IROS 2016 WS on Machine Learning Methods for High-Level Cognitive Capabilities in Robotics, Shonan Meeting 2016 on Cognitive Development and Symbol Emergence in Humans and Robots, IROS 2015 workshop on Learning object affordances, ICAR 2015 Workshop on Robot Learning, IROS 2013 Workshop on Neuroscience and Robotics and Humanoids 2012 Workshop on Developmental Robotics.
